It was “Silent Sunday” at Oil Mill Lane, a peaceful day featuring parents and coaches desperately trying to keep quiet. Exeter started well, Captain Levi Richards making a long run into opposition territory. After an improved performance last week, despite the result, Exeter took on Crediton at Oil Mill Lane. Both teams were missing several players due to injury which meant Craig Marriott playing at full back, Cameron Forrest on the wing, Levi Richards at outside centre, Charlie Mason at blind side flanker and Will Cartlidge in the second row. U14’s Match report v Bideford

It was the preliminary round of the Devon cup and the Exeter lads had high hopes of progressing to the next round. Bideford started quickly and some poor tackling let them in for an early try. Despite Noah Williams interception the visitors were soon awarded a penalty five meters out. Exeter repelled the attack and turned the ball over allowing Cameron Forrest to clear. Exeter Youth U14s 5 v Taunton U14s 76

It was a difficult start to the season for the Exeter boys, lots of rule changes, line-outs, flankers, conversions, a full scrum and a strong Taunton side all to deal with on the opening day. Taunton scored a couple of early tries, missed tackles costing the home team dearly. A penalty was kicked into the corner, the catch and drive was well executed and nearly led to an Exeter try.
